Susan Sloan
It might be said that Susan Sloan-Lieb has always thought outside of the box! Growing up as an only child on a small, isolated farm, she created a world in her mind of imaginary people, creatures and far away places. Susan loved making up stories, building boxes to catch fairies and putting on theatrical performances for anyone who would watch!
From a very early age, she developed a love for puppetry, in particular for marionettes, and this was to be a passion that she would carry with her into adulthood.
While studying puppetry in Europe, in the early 90s, several lengthy trips to Prague awoke a new love in her for handcrafted art. On her return to the states, while still in school, she took on a position of manager in a folk art gallery….the rest is history!
Susan lives in Charlotte with her husband Dan and when she is not in gallery she can be found on a horse!
